Joseph Carvalko is an American writer, lawyer and inventor born in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He has published books in diverse genre from poetry, prose, creative non fiction and law, to professional and technical articles in law, technology and philosophy. He is currently Adjunct Professor of Law, Science and Technology at Quinnipiac University, School of Law, and former Adjunct Professor of Management of Intellectual Property at Fairfield University, School of Engineering. He is past member of the editorial board for SciTech, a publication of the ABA, Section on Science and Technology. In the late 1980s Carvalko held position of Chairman of the Behavioral Sciences Committee of the Section on Science and Technology. Formerly Carvalko was founding partner of Dice, Maloney, Lenz and Carvalko, a partner at Duane Morris, Top IP counsel for Gateway Computer and General Counsel Farrel Corporation. Carvalko holds eight patents in fields ranging from biomedical, electronics, fuel purification to financial systems. In 1997 he formed Alxzka an engineering development company, where he is credited with inventing an anti paparazzi device at the time of Princess Diana's death. Carvalko's work in research is cited in various publications, notably as a researcher in biomedical pattern recognition using cellular automata along with K. Preston and M.J.E. Golay the famous 20th Century physicist and mathematician and prior to that with Emil Bolsey (of Bolex Camera), inventor of the photo tracking system used to photograph Lunar landing sites laying the groundwork for the Apollo Space missions. Carvalko maintains a blog (Carvalko.Newsvine.com) related to political/social, law, science and technology. In 2006 Carvalko formed the Waterfront Jazz Project playing jazz piano (www.waterfrontjazzproject.com). He is a veteran of the Vietnam era serving with the 307th Bomb Wing SAC. He is a bar member of New York, Connecticut and US Patent and Trademark Office. He holds a Bachelor Science Electrical Engineering, Juris Doctor Law, and Master Fine Arts writing.
